as ?as ?句型不表示比较的几种情况

1．“as+原级+as possible”句型，表示“尽量??”、“尽可能??”的意义。 You must speak English as often as possible. 你应尽量常讲英语。 The work must be finished as soon as possible. 此项工作应尽快完成。 2. “as +原级+as one（possibly）can /could ”句型，其意义与上述句型相同。 We’ll try to get there as early as we can. 我们争取尽早到达。 Had Della tried to save as much as she could? 德拉尽量多攒钱吗？
3．“as +原级+as +数量词组”句型，表示某人或某事在某方面达到了所指数量的程度，其意义是“??达??”。
Most of them are higher than a man and weigh about two and a half tons each. Some weigh as much as fifteen tons.
The Genie stayed in the sea as long as three hundred years.
As early as the late 13th century, large fleets of Chinese vessels visited the islands of the South China Sea.
4．“as+原级+as any ”句型，表示原级已达到最高级的程度。
I am as glad as anything. He works as hard as anybody. 5．“as +原级+as +比喻对象”句型，表示原级已达到最高程度。 She was greatly frightened and looked as pale as a ghost.
I passed and repassed the house, and stopped and listened at the door; all as dark and silent as the grave.
6．“as +原级+as +原级重复”句型，表示达到无以复加的程度，其意义是“非常’，“十分”，“极其”，“最为”等。
He′s as proud as proud. The man was free, as free as free.
7．“as +原级+as +另一原级”句型，表示某人或某事物具有两种不同的性质或特点，其意义是“又??又??”，“ 既??又??”。
He is as kind as honest. 他既诚实又善良。 He was as covetous as cruel. 他既残酷又贪婪。
8．“as +原级+again +as +比较对象”句型，表示甲比乙增加了一倍。 The auditorium under construction will be as large again as this one. The new library has as many books again as the old one.
9．另外，还有一些“as ?as?” 结构的搭配比较固定，如 as/so far as（就??而论）， as good as（几乎等于，差不多），as soon as（一??就??）as/so long as（只要??就??），as well as（和??）等，作为固定搭配时没有比较的意义，跟非固定搭配不同，所以不可将二者相混淆。试比较：
Mr. Robinson has promised to supply the wood as long as we do the work and finish it within a month.
You can stay as long as you like.
As far as I know, there is no meeting this afternoon. They walked as far as the lake.
He as much as admitted the whole story. You can take as much as you need.
