In recent years there has been a dramatic rise in the cell phones. Mobile phones are not just for calling, but we can now text, take and send pictures, record videos, access the internet, play games and much more. Thus more and more young people now own a mobile. However many schools do not allow students to bring cell phones to school. That all because most students use cell phones irresponsibly. Is a communication device necessary in an educational environment? Certainly not!!!
Mobile phones can cause a distraction in education. As we know, there is a time to learn or to work and there is a time to do the things we enjoy. Playing with mobile phone is something many people like, but it can get in the way of the things that we need to do, like pay attention in class. For example, if we were working hard on a piece of work, concentrating hard, and a person's phone rings, it disrupts the whole class. Looking at long term effects, if this was happening every day, we would waste five minutes a day, so nearly half an hour a week, and so that would be over ten hours a year of disruption. Students may argue that they own the cell phone, so they can use it as they please. But they also have the right to
get educated, and teachers have the right to do their job, without being disrupted. Teachers may find it is really disrespectful if a student isn’t listening. Mobile phones should be banned because schools just want to ensure their students have the best education.
Also, those mobile phones with cameras present an invasion of privacy in the school. When I was in secondary school, a girl named Sherry in my class experienced something horrible. There’s a naughty girl wanted to play a trick on Sherry, so one day she found somewhere to hide in the female toilet and when sherry came in, she recorded the whole process with her mobile phone. After that, she spread the video everywhere. When I heard about it, both two girls had to quit school. For sherry, the nightmare will follow her during the rest of life. For another girl, she must be very regret that the misuse of mobile phone ruined her future.
Furthermore, the highest-quality research suggests that frequent use of a mobile phone can put the owner at risk of long term health damage. It claims that mobile phones have radiation and it can destroy or damage body cells. With the increased usage of mobiles, the students are putting themselves at risk more and more. Students are too reliant on the use of cell phones. Most time they prefer moving their fingers on the phone, which directly causes the brain stop working and their communication
skills decline.
Above all, there is no need for mobile phone in the school as it has a really bad impact on student. Using mobile phone is like taking drugs to students. They will be addicted to it easily. Every sensible people will support that mobile phone should be banned in the school.
