From this we can see that a person without a heart of sympathy is not really human, that a person without a sense of shame is not rally human , that a person without a character to be modest and generous is not really human, and that a person without a sense of right and wrong is not really human. ② ; a sense of shame is the starting point of justice; a character to be modest and generous is the starting point of behavior, and a sense of right and wrong is the starting point of wisdom.
For a person to have these four starting points is like him having his four limbs (肢) When a person having these four starting points says he is incapable of doing such things , he is injuring himself. ③ .For those who have the four starting points in them , if they care and develop these qualities, they will start to spread like fire and to burst forth like a spring , Once cared and developed , these qualities will be enough for a person to take care of the whole world .
