A study on the influences of the appreciation of RMB on Chinese import and export trade
Abstract:Exchange rate is the most important comprehensive price index during the international economic activities of one country and is also the momentous lever to adjust trade balance. The fluctuation of exchange rate has profound influence on the balance of foreign trade and the economic activities of domestic markets. Since 2007, the value of RMB has appreciated by 6%, and RMB exchange rate against US dollar has been rising steadily. The influence of the continuous appreciation of RMB on our import and export trade is inevitable. Therefore, we must take corresponding measures to address or relieve the negative influence of the appreciation of RMB. This paper analyses on the basis of the reasons of the appreciation of RMB, and discusses the positive and negative influence of the appreciation of RMB on our import and export trade with the combination of practice. Then I proposed related policies and measures to deal with the appreciation of RMB and push to develop our import and export trade.
