There is an old saying in China, which goes “How happy we are, to meet friends from afar?” Today, it’s an honor for me to meet all of you here and to be of service.
As you all know, China is a large country with a great variety of physical characteristics. In Chongqing you’ll be able to get a glimpse of the unique mountainous city, its people and its widely known food.

? Over the past 10 years, per capita consumption in Chinese urban and rural areas has
increased by a large margin with housing area up by over 40% and mobile phone subscribers exceeding 1 billion. The public now has more choices for cultural life and entertainment. Higher education has made a historical leap-forward, reaching a population of 23 million people. In 2013, China’s car sale reach 21.98 million unit,
topping the world for 5 years in a row ；and tourism also grew at a high speed with inbound and outbound tourists hitting 3.25 billion person-times and 98 million person-times respectively.

? There were 2,450 enterprises taking part in the CAEXPO as exhibitors, with 4,000 exhibition booths provided, up by 16.7% and 17.6% over the last session respectively. ASEAN countries used 1,168 booths, up by 1.2% over the last session, accounting for 29.2% of the total. The trade visitors to the CAEXPO added up to 48619, the trade visitofrs from outside China grew by 8%. The CABIS attracted 1,500 delegates, expanding the size of the event.
