Of all the food we know, fruit is one of the most healthful. It is also one of the tastiest foods. Almost everyone enjoys fruit. Fruit is grown in almost every part of the world. Once it was considered good to keep the car engine idle a minute or two following cold starts. Today, with modern technology, the opposite is true. An engine operating under road conditions will warm up faster and run more efficiently than the one that is idling（空负荷运转）. Idling just burns gas (on average, about a gallon an hour).

The United States is full of automobiles. There are still many families without cars, but some families have two or even more. However, cars are used for more than pleasure. They are a necessary part of life.

Why is it that the more connected we get, the more disconnected I feel? Every advance in communications technology is a step back from the closeness of human interaction. With e-mail and instant messaging over the Internet, we can now communicate without seeing or talking to one another. With voice mail, you can conduct entire conversations without ever reaching anyone. If my mom has a question, I just leave the answer on her machine.
As almost every imaginable contact between human beings becomes automatic by machine, the alienation quotient goes up. You can't even call a person to get the phone number of another person anywhere.
