如何写好定语 一、前置定语与后置定语 英语中定语的位置与汉语中定语的位置有很大不同,这往往导致学生写出汉语式英语句子,成为失分的主要因素之一。 1.前置定语 名词、数词、代词、形容词、单个的分词作定语,一般用在主语或宾语前。 China is a developing country. 中国是发展中国家。 2.后置定语 短语、句子作定语时一般放于中心词的后面;另外,形容词修饰不定代词、副词作定语时也常常放 1

于中心词的后面。 As we all know,China is a country belonging to the third world. 众所周知,中国是一个属于第三世界的国家。 The men here are always busy working on the farm. 这里的男人总是忙于在田间干活。 点睛:在使用定语时,常出现双谓语错误。 Professor Li comes from Beijing University will give us a lecture tomorrow.(双谓语错误) →Professor Li from Beijing University will give us a lecture tomorrow. →Professor Li who is/comes from Beijing University will give us a lecture tomorrow. 二、从句作定语——定语从句 运用定语从句必须注意两点:由关系代词或关系副词所替代的成分在从句中不能重复出现;定语从句与简单句一样,也要求句子结构既正确又完整。 1.定语从句的结构 将下列每组句子连成一个含定语从句的复合句,并分析定语从句中的成分。 ①The foreigner is from Canada.He visited our class yesterday. →The foreigner wh o visite d our class yesterda y is from Canada. 主语谓语宾语状语②Mrs Wang is the teacher.Her son was admitted to Beijing University. →Mrs Wang is the teacher whos e so n was admitted _to Beijing University. 定语主语谓语状语③Our teacher told us such a story.It moved us all to tears. →Our teacher told us such a story a s move d us all to tears. 主语谓语宾语状语④I will never forget the days.We worked in that small town in those days. →I will never forget the days whe n w e worke d _in that small town. 状语主语谓语状语 常用句型一:由as引导的非限制性定语从句 (2012·湖北短文写作)As we know,books are the source of knowledge. 正如我们所知,书籍是知识的源泉。 常用句型二:由which引导的非限制性定语从句 ①(2013·天津卷书面表达)I have been class monitor since I came to our college,which brought me a 2

(×) ②This is the mountain village which I visited last year.(√) (2)无论是关系代词还是关系副词,都在定语从句中充当成分,都有替代作用,而被替代部分需去掉。 ①Is this the bike (that) you bought it yesterday? (×) ②Is this the bike (that) you bought yesterday?(√) (3)非限制性定语从句是对先行词的一种解释或说明,在写作中往往和限制性定语从句混用。 ①Beijing is a lively city with a long history where you can see ancient and modern cultures.(×) ②Beijing is a lively city with a long history,where you can see ancient and modern cultures.(√) [句式升级] 恰当地使用定语从句可以提升作文的档次。 ①Without water,man can’t live,so it is of great importance. →Water,without which man can’t live,is of great importance.(句子“瘦身”。使用定语从句后句子更简练) ②He made brilliant remarks on the famous film. →The remarks that he made on the famous film was brilliant.(“高级”变中来;使用定语从句突出了brilliant和importance) [练一练] 把下列每组题中的两个简单句合并为一个含有定语从句的复合句。 ①(2012·辽宁卷书面表达)Even the students have turned out to be interested in the subject.The students used to dislike English. →Even_the_students_who_used_to_dislike_English_have_turned_out_to_be_interested_in_the_subject. ②(2012·江苏卷书面表达)To avoid such conflicts,we should be kind to one another.It is essential to enjoy a harmonious life. →To_avoid_such_conflicts,we_should_be_kind_to_one_another,which_is_essential_to_enjoy_a_harmonious_life. 3
