Step 2 Presentation:

1. T: Look at them. Who are they?

Ss: They are Liu Tao and Wang Bing.

T: They have the same hobby. Can you guess? Ss: They both like playing football. T: Really? Let’s listen to the tape. Ss listen to the tape.

2. T: Do they both like playing football? S: Yes, they do.

T: Why? How do you know it?

S: Let’s go and play football in the playground. Wait a minute, Liu Tao. (随文学字 wait a minute)

Ss read after S

T: Wait a minute. Why?

S: Let me send this email first. (随文学字 send this email) T: Is this email to Liu Tao?

Ss read the title together after T.

Step 3 New lesson: (P 58)

1. T: About this e-friend, what do you want to know?

Ss: What’s his name? How old is he? Where? Can he …? Does he like …?

T: Well done. I want to know the name, age, address, ability, hobby too.(指板书)

Let’s watch the cartoon. Then find the answers about the name, age and address. Ss watch the cartoon.

2. T: Tell me sth. about the name, age and address.

Ss: He’s Peter. He lives in the UK. He’s 11 years old. (随文学字 the UK)

T: How do you know? Can you read the dialogue? Ss: …

3. Ss read after T, Bs & Gs, Ss read in pairs, show 2-3 pairs.

Step 4 New lesson: (P 59)

1. T: Until now, Liu Tao knows the name, the address and the age. And he wants to

know more about Peter. What does he want to know? Find the questions, please. Ss listen the tape and read the questions.

Ss: Can he speak Chinese? / Does he have Chinese lessons at school? / What subjects does he like? / Does he like playing football? (随文学字 speak Chinese, have Chinese lessons)

T: How does Wang Bing answer?

Ss: Yes, he can. (= Yes, he can speak Chinese.)

No, he doesn’t. (= No, he doesn’t have Chinese lessons at school.) He studies Chinese after school (随文学字 study -- studies)

He likes Maths and PE.

Yes, he does. (= Yes, he likes playing football.) He likes swimming too.

2. Ss read after the tape, Bs & Gs, Ss read in pairs, show 2-3 pairs.

Step 5 Consolidation:

1. Ss read the text together, try to recite with the hints. 2. Think and write:
