people should carry. But, when it comes to the issue whether present young
people devote less time on helping their communities, opinions carry strong
individualistc and cultural distinctions. As far as I\\?ˉm concerned, scarcely at
all can I contend a similar stand with the statement that young people don\\?ˉt
spend enough time helping their communities.
The first and foremost reason I\\?ˉd like to elaborate upon is that serving the
communities has already become a compulsory activity in shcool. Students have to
voluntarily work for their communities at least some time in order to get
certifications. To exemplify what I mean, students in my school are required to
help their communities at least twenty hours every semester. Those who fulfill
this assignment can get a certification which will help them to apply for their
ideal college in the future. While, the people who are reluctant to do that work
will not only get punishments from shcool, but also will not get any
recommendations wrote by their teachers when they apply for universities.
Moreover, young people nowadyas are gradually aware of the significance of
the communities and are more active in voluntary community service. With the
students becoming more and more informative and mature, they continually attach
more inportance to their communities. For instance, every winter, a large numer
of students in my college, though they are very busy with their tremendous
workloads, will go to the rural area to teach the students there. My college
classmates are not compelled by our college. But they still actively participate
into this activity because of their growing concern toward their communities and
country.
Admittedly, young people nowadays have a lot of tasks to deal with. It means
they have to spend their most part of time studying and reflecting. In the
meantime, they carry a lot of pressures, which make them hard to consider about
other things. However, young people prefer to spend their precious free time
helping their communities. Because, from their perspectives, the experience of
serving the communities can release their adverse emotions and make their more
energetic and positive, which largely strengthens their efficiency of study.
In summary, although present students have to spend a lot of time tackling
with tremendous workloads, they still give enough time to participate into the
community service because of the schools\\?ˉ requirements, the student\\?ˉs
awareness and the helpful effects of the voluntary community service.
