Adesignforengineeringdrawings.Formanycompanies,theinjectionmoulddesignhastoberepresentedintheformofengineeringdrawingswithdetaileddimensions.CAD/CAMtoolsthatareabletoautomaticallygeneratetheseengineeringdrawingsfromthe nalinjectionmoulddesignwillbeuseful.Basedontheaboveanalysis,ourresearchfocusistodeveloptechniquestorepresent‘whattheyhave’and‘whattheywant’.
Representing‘whattheywant’isactuallytherepre-sentationoftheknowledgeandinjectionmouldobject.Developing‘whattheywant’meanstointegratetherepresentationwithintelligentandinteractivetoolsfortheinjectionmoulddesignintoacompleteddesignenvironment.Therefore,anIKB-MOULDisproposedformoulddesignerstorealisetheabovetworequire-ments.
3TheIKB-MOULD
TheIKB-MOULDcombinestheuseofknowledge-basedandobject-orientedtoolswithcommercialsolidmodellingsoftwaretocarryoutitsfunction.TheIKB-MOULDpresentedinthispaperbeginswiththeplasticparttobemouldedand nisheswiththegenerationofacompletedmouldsystemwithrelativelydetailed
drawings.
