Connect one end of a Cat 5 (or higher) Ethernet cable to the GA511 Gigabit CardBus Adapter.
Connect the other end of the cable to an RJ-45 Ethernet network port. Turn on power to the notebook computer and then to the connected device.Verify that one of the LEDs is on, indicating that there is a good link to the card. Click the GA511 system tray NETGEAR Smart Wizard utility icon on the lower right side of the Windows task bar. Verify that the GA511 status information matches your network.

If there is a problem with the installation of the driver, an exclamation point will appear next to the NETGEAR GA511 Gigabit Adapter. Try rebooting your computer.
