At the same time, teachers should think about students’ mentality, the

listening materials’ overview, the format, the timing and the procedure, etc.

Generally speaking, adequate pre-listening activities can more or less smooth the way for students’ overcoming the listening barrier and improve their listening comprehension ability to some extent. Therefore, designing and researching the best pre-listening activity is very important in our English listening teaching.

So try to use as many different sources of listening materials as we can, advertisement, news programs ,songs, extracts from plays ,speeches ,informal dialogues…..the more varied and authentic the listening practice you offer them, the more fun you will have.
