Us Spending Patterns
According to the statistics shown in the pie charts, we can easily draw a conclusion that people's lives had improved a lot from 1966 to 1996. There is no doubting the fact that the aspect reflecting on this is us spending patterns.
As we can see, people's spending in food decreased dramatically. It was 44 percent in 1966, but it accounted for 14 percent in 1996. Besides, the expenses in furniture, about 10 percentage, was cut down by 2 percent among the thirty years. Moreover, the cost of the books making up 6 percent in 1966 had cut down to 1 percent. But when it comes to the expenses of the cars, undoubtedly, it increased from 23 percent to 45 percent. But what surprise us is that the cost of the petrol cut down by 5 percent. It is known to us that people's expenditure in restaurants increased so dramatically because it took up around 7 percent in 1966 and 14 percent in 1996.
