Luckily, he met some struggling man like him who he held up as a model and learnt an important lesson. After that, he sold his articles gradually and got the first contract about root-searching. Then he became famous after Roots was published and had a better life with much pride.
Later, on one day, he recalled the rough time when he saw the brown paper bag and kept it to remind him of courage and persistence in shadowland.
