请阅读下面短文,并根据所读内容在文章后表格中的空格里填入一个最恰当的单词。 “New normal” is a popular term referring to China’s current economy. It means the Chinese economy has entered a new phase that is different from the high-speed growth pattern exhibited in the past. It is a new trend that features more sustainable, mid-to-high-speed growth with higher efficiency and lower costs.

During the new normal state, the growth slowdown from a high rate of around 10 percent to now about 7 to 8 percent is unavoidable.

The economy will also undergo comprehensive and fundamental changes. The service

industry will gradually become a backbone(中坚) of the national economy and consumption will be the main source of demand. Along with that process of restructuring, some industries will suffer from the problem of over-productivity. Meanwhile, some new growth points will spring up.

Meanwhile the Chinese economy will transform from the production investment-driven model into an innovation-driven model. The prolonged difficulties facing manufacturing(制造业) industries show China can no longer rely on low cost production factors, as the prices of labor, resources and land are rising. Technological innovation must become the main driving force.

Under the new normal state, the service sectors will provide more new jobs than the manufacturing industries. In 2012, the latter industry created about 980 jobs while creating 100 million yuan of gross domestic product. The service industry can make 1,200 new jobs. The rise of service sectors’ proportion will increase GDP and create more jobs.

Authorities need to increase people’s income, especially the low-income group, who shows stronger buying power. The government will also have to cover all citizens with a basic social welfare net. Without a boost (提升) in income it would be difficult to boost consumption.

Before the “new normal” state, the Chinese economy overwhelmingly relied on investment and export. The changes of foreign demand and investment caused fluctuations(波动) in the economy. The periodic fluctuations will become milder under the new normal state in which the economy relies more on consumption. The stabilization of economic growth will also stabilize the price of goods. The consumer price index(CPI) only increased 2.6 percent in the past two years, and 2.3 percent in the first half of this year.

Innovation will become the most irreplaceable driving force for the restructuring of the Chinese economy. Growth quality and efficiency will be higher on the agenda of enterprises and the society as a whole.

In general, the new normal state can boost China to transform its growth model, overcome the “middle-income trap”, and maintain mid-and-high-speed growth for a considerably long time. Topic Sub-topic Definition Detailed Information The Chinese economy has entered a new trend (71)_______ a slower speed but a healthier state. With the widespread use of technologies like GPS and Intemet-connected cameras, parents can now keep an eye on their children wherever they are.

The combination of high-tech tools and highly-protective parents has set off the creation of a GPS-equipped wristwatch that allows parents to listen in real time to what their children are doing. The device has caused complaints from teachers since some parents began equipping their children with the watch so they can listen in on what happens at school.

A teacher surnamed You at a well-known primary school in Pudong New Area discovered someone was eavesdropping(偷听) on her lessons after a parent of one of her students posted something she said online while class was still on. You soon found out the parent had given her child a watch that could send out the sounds in the classroom to her mobile phone. Soon, other parents decided to equip their own children with the devices.

You was annoyed to find out her students' parents were spying on her. It made her feel as if they distrusted her. After You told her fellow teachers what had happened, they discovered that some of their students were also wearing the watches. 【写作内容】

第六部分:书面表达

To keep an eve on their children, nowadays many parents are using a high-tech wristwatch when they are at school. Despite its convenience to the parents, teachers hold an negative attitude as they feel their lessons are spied on.

Generally, I stand on the teacher’s side. To begin with, those parents are caring too much for their children. Children are sent to school just to learn to be independent. With parents’ 24 hour care, how can they? Secondly, wearing the wristwatch which often sends out sounds, it’s unavoidable students will be distracted in class, resulting in their underachievement in study. Last but most importantly, just as the teachers have argued, this equipment is a symbol of distrust in schools and an invasion of privacy to teachers and other students. No one can base their own convenience on others’ inconvenience.

Due to the above-mentioned reasons, I don’t support those parents’ practice. 听力原文 1

M: Mary, couldn’t you, hurry? If you are late again, I’ll fire you. W: Oh, I’m sorry, but I promise I won’t be late again. 2.

W: Your accent is something different, I mean, you are not native English.

M: I was bom in Sydney, and was brought up in Scotland. But my father is from Ireland. 3 W: Will you please change the channel for another program? I can’t stand this. M: Please be patient. The news will end soon. 4.

W: I’d like to exchange this green tablecloth that I bought last week for the red one. M: Let’s see now. The red one is only $10.95, and the green one was $15. 5

W: Will you please return these books to John when you see him? M: Of course, I’ll be seeing him in class this morning. 6

W: How’s it going, Vic?

M: Oh, ok. This party is not much fun, is it?

W: I’m enjoying myself. Aren’t you?

M: I don’t know. I’m a little bored, I guess.

W: Come on. You are just feeling a little down because it’s Christmas and you’re all by yourself.

It happens to everyone. M: Maybe that’s it.

W: I’m sure it is. Come on. Cheer up. Try and enjoy yourself. M: Yeah, I will. Thanks. W: That’s ok. 7

W: What are you looking at, Jim?

M: I’m reading an article about the world’s homeless population. W: Homeless population?

M: Yes - sociologists define homeless people as those who have no fixed shelter on any given night. These figures show five countries with large homeless population.

W: Wow, that’s amazing. I never realized that there were so many homeless people in Germany and France.

M: You know what? Our own country the USA ranks number one among these countries! W: Surely not! India tops the list with three million homeless people.

M: Well, it depends on how you look at it. Although we have a million fewer homeless people than India, we have the highest percentage of homeless people. 8

W: Hello.

M: This is Jim Evens from the Market Research Company. May I ask you a few questions? W: Oh, I suppose.

M: Do you read any newspapers and if so, which ones? W: I read the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

M: About how many hours a week do you read newspapers then? W: Oh, about two or three.

M: Ok. Now, do you read books regularly and , if so, what type?

W: Well, novels are my favorite but, to tell you the truth, I haven’t read one in quite a while. I’m taking a class at night, so the only books I’ve been reading lately are textbooks. M: And how long do you spend a week reading textbooks? W: Not enough. I guess even or eight hours. M: Thanks for your help. W: You’re welcome. 9

W: Tom, why are you surfing the net again? It’s a real waste of time, I’ve told you.

M: I’m doing my homework, mom. I need to write a paper, and I’m looking for the information on the Net. W: Really?

M: Yes. You see, you can find a lot of information by entering the key words and searching

form them.

W: That’s fantastic!

M: And the net can also help you do shopping. It’s called E-shopping. W: How can I do shopping without going to the shops?

M: It’s easy. First you log on to an online shopping deliver service, which will give you the pictures of different goods. Then you simply point and clickaround the screen for the goods you want. The goods will be sent to you. W: I can’t believe it. Let me have a try. M: It can save you a lot of time. 10

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. This is Karen Tailor, your announcer at the British National Swimming Competition. We’ve had really exciting races here so far. Teams have come from more than twenty sports clubs and their fans have come with them. The next event on the program is the women’s 100-metere freestyle. Here are some swimmers in this race. Alice Godley from Liverpool is in Lane 1. She has won three races so far this month, but she hasn’t broken any records yet. Karen Gibson from London Sports Club has the flu and can’t swim today. Beth Cromer has taken her place in Lane 2. She has always been better at 50-meter backstroke, but she’s good at 100-meter freestyle too. She won silver medal in 100-meter medal last year. I Lane 3, we see Elizabeth Hampton from Manchester Club. She has often swum for her sports club and has had some very good races.
