Abstract:Knowledge innovation has become an important strategic imperative for tourism enterprises to participate in higher level competition. However, researchers find that the innovative knowledge conversion rate in tourism enterprises is rather low. With a survey of knowledge management activities of nearly 80 tourism enterprises in Pearl River Delta region, the author finds that tourism enterprises are troubled by the highlighted contradictions between the growing demand for knowledge innovation and the out-of-date knowledge management technology, and that the high dependence on tacit knowledge and the prevalence of standardized

management pattern are the causes of the low conversion rate of innovative knowledge.
