The Advantages and Disadvantages of Being An Only Child in
University Life
Because of the one-child policy, many of the university students today are the only children at home.
The traits of being the only child have both positive and negative impacts on students' life in university.On the one hand, these students tend to be more eager to make friends with others for they understand the loneliness of staying at home by themselves. And they may tend to take a more active part in various activities in universities, which is meaningful for their full round development. On the other hand, these students are more likely to have conflicts with their roommates, since many of them are treated like \not so tolerant and not so concerned about others.
In view of the advantages and disadvantages mentioned above, it is suggestive that university students, who are the only child at home, should try to maximize their strengths and minimize their shortcomings if they have them.
