Teaching Plan

Unit 3 Journey down the Mekong (Book I)

Grade: Senior 1 Period: 3rd period

Aims and Requirement:

A. Knowledge aims: to get students to know more information about the great rivers in the world and how to prepare for a trip

B. Ability aims: Encourage them to express their own travel plans using the language they have

learned in the class and cultivate their ability to cooperate with others.

C. Emotional aims: Guide students to learn to enjoy the fun of traveling and appreciate the beautiful sceneries in China and the whole world.

Teaching Important Points: to get students to master the important words and expressions in the unit

Teaching Difficult Points: to get students to master the important words and expressions in the unit and how to express themselves using what they have learned in this passage

Teaching method: The method of elicitation; the communicative language teaching; the task-based language teaching

Teaching Aids: projector

Teaching Procedures:

I. Greeting.(30 ”)

(Purpose: To call students’ attention for the new lesson.) Teacher (T): Good morning, guys!

Students (S): Good morning, Miss Ding! T: How are things with you ? S :

II. Lead in. (2’)

(Purpose: Help the students be the subject of the class) T: Show the great rivers in the world and give a brief introduction. S : Appreciate the beautiful sceneries.

T&S: Review the language and granmmar points of last class. III. Introductions & Presentation (12’)

(Purpose: Encourage students to use what have learned and to study each other.)

T: After reading the travel journal, now it’s our turn to get our journey prepared. You can disscuss it with your partners, four people in a group. S: disscuss.

IV. Reinforcement. (15’)

(Purpose: Lead students to understand the information of the text better.) T:please write down your fruits as the model on the screen. S: Write down thier fruits as the model on the screen. V. Assignment. (24’)

(Purpose: Help the students to recall and internalize what was taught.) T: Now please begin to write your short passage according to your outline.

S: Write.

VI. Homework. (25’)

(Purpose: Help the students to remember what was taught and prepare for next class..)

1. Correct your writing.
