掌握阅读技巧，提高学生们的综合阅读能力和语言表达能力。 3. 情感态度价值观目标
每个人都有自己的梦想和对未来的打算，对于将来想要从事的职业也充满了憧憬。 人们常谈论他们的设想，因此，应通过学习这单元的内容来激发学生们的学习主动性和学习兴趣，使他们更加有理想，并为实现自己的理想而不断努力。

阅读短文，获得相关信息，提高学生们的综合阅读能力。
三．教学过程
1．课程导入(lead in)（预计2分钟）
询问学生们是否下过决心？比如说我要好好学习；比如说我要听父母，老师的话，做个好孩子。那这些决心我们又能否坚持下去呢？
Have you ever made resolutions? Such as I am going to study hard or I am going to be a
good child. Can you keep these resolutions?
接下来我们将一起来学习一篇关于决心的文章。Then we will learn an article about resolution.
2．新课讲授(presentation)
①这篇文章讲了三个方面的内容：this article is divided into three parts（4分）
To question the idea of making resolutions To give the meaning of resolutions
To discuss the different kinds of resolutions
咱们同学们带着这三句话读一遍文章，选出每句话对应的段落。并把ABCD这四句话填入文章中，并找出能支持填入这句话的上下文。然后找同学来核对答案。Read the article with three sentences and find out the main idea of each paragraph. Then put ABCD these four sentences into the correct places and give the reason why it should be there. ②我们已经了解了文章的大意，再细读一遍文章。We have known the main idea of the article, let us read the article again.
先读第一段，并回答以下的问题：Read the first paragraph and find the answers to these questions.(4分) What is a resolution?
When do people usually make resolutions? How can people remember their resolutions?
再读第二段，并回答以下的问题：Read the second paragraph and answer the following questions.(4分)
How many kinds of resolutions does the writer talk about? What are they?
读第三段，讨论下面的问题：Read the third paragraph and discuss the following questions.（4分）
Will you make any resolution next year? What is it? Why?
③用完形的方式来练习这篇文章。在文章中去掉重点短语中的一个词，让学生们来练习。Practice this article by filling the cloze.（2分钟）
Do you know what a resolution is? It’s a kind of promise. Most of the time, we make promises to other people. (“Mom, I promise I’m going to tidy my room when I get back from school.”) However, promises you make to yourself are resolutions, and the most common kind is New Year’s resolutions. The start of the year is often a time for making resolutions. When we make resolutions at the beginning of the year, we hope that we are going to improve our lives. Some people write down their resolutions and plans for the coming year. This helps them to remember their resolutions. Others tell their family and friends about their wish and plans. 3.总结(summary)(3分)
