Jack Dawson, a poor young artist, saved herlife. Rose was very grateful, so she invited Jack to a formal dinner. While they were together, an iceberg hit the ship. Meanwhile, a friend of Caledon's put a diamond necklace in Jack's pocket. Caledon said Jack had stolen the necklace and he was arrested. The ship began to sink. Rose fought her way to Jack and helped him to run away. There were not enough lifeboats. Rose got onto a lifeboat but she couldn't leave Jack. She jumped back onto the ship. Right before the ship sank, Rose and Jack jumped into the water. They found a piece of wood but it was not large enough for both of them. Jack stayed in the water. He died from the cold.
