1. Summary.
Surprisingly, the hero called Chuandao who is a student encounters an amazing
dancing girl and deeply fascinates by the beauty of the dancer, when he starts the lonely travel in Izu. Soon afterwards, he tries a variety of methods to catch up with the pace of the buskers' team, until the leader warm welcomes him to join them. In the next journey, the buskers put on performances at night along the way, while Chuandao follows the team to continue his travel. As expected, the dancing girl falls in love with the young man at first sight. Because of the obsolete class concept and the spent travelling expenses, Chuandao chooses to return to Tokyo by boat even though he loves the girl deeply. When watching the scene that the two are distressed at farewell on the dock, everyone would be touched by the pure and beautiful love.
2. What is the basic mood of the film? How is it expressed?
I think the basic mood of the film is sentimental and praises the pure love in a fresh
way. It is expressed through the description of the scene, the depiction of mental activity, and the arrangement of the plot.
3. Do you think the film displays a kind of beauty? How is it displayed?
Yes, I think so. The movie describes a classic Japanese love and expresses the hazy and
pure love between the young boy and girl, although they separate under the pressure of the reality in the end. It is very beautiful.
4. What is your expected fate of the heroine?
I expect that they never meet again. In the heart of each other, there will be the best
memories forever. Just as the old saying goes, Life would be perfect if every moment is just like the first glimpse.
