应试技巧 1.

掌握不同类型信函的常用词语和句型。信函的内容涉及从建立业务关系,经过询盘、报盘、成交、执行合同一直到索赔等各个环节,要表达的内容可能千变万化,难以一一都背下来。

联系contact (approach.get in touch with) sb.

建立业务关系establish (enter into) business relations with? 询价to make an enquiry for sth., to enquire for sth.

报价to quote sb. a price for sth., to quote for sth. at?, to send (make, give) sb. one’s (best, lowest) quotation for…, to make an offer for sth., to offer sb. sth. CIF/FOB/CFR….

给折扣 (佣金) to allow (grant, give, offer) sb. a discount (commission) of

x% for (on) sth.

还盘to counter offer, to make a (best possible) counter-offer 一式2份(3份、4份、5份、6份) in duplicate (triplicate, quadruplicate,quintuplicate, sextuplicate) 销路好,畅销,受欢迎to have (find, command) a good (ready) market, to be well

received, to be popular with customers, to sell well (fast), to enjoy favour (popularity,fast sale), to meet with warm reception

另邮to send by separate post (mail.parcel), under separate cover

需求大 (殷切、急迫) to be in high (great, heavy, keen, urgent) demand 订货to place an order with sb. for sth.., order sth. from sb. 试(续)订货to place a trial (repeat)order

2. 考试时要尽量使用自己熟悉的有把握的词句,不要刻意追求“高水平”的文字。例如:“如谈判得不到解决??”译作in the absence of a

settlement through negotiation?当然是很好的,但假如把握不大,倒不如干脆说in case of no

settlement?或更平实一些if settlement can not be

reached?后两种译法均不会丢分。再如:需求大必然会造成涨价,这一点希望引起你方注意,同时请你方早日作答。这句话可译为Active demand will certainly result in increased price, to which we hope you will pay attention, and meanwhile we are anticipating your early

reply.。本句尽可译作:Heavy demand will certainly push up the price, we hope you

will pay attention to that and reply at an early date.

总之,商务信函翻译要求忠实表达原意,不出语言错误,商务术语一定要用对,但不必拘泥用词和语序及结构。要用自己最有把握的表达方式,正确地表达出原意即可基本达到考试要求。
