第一部分 词汇导学
1. disease n. 病，疾病。名词，常用来指特定的，具体的疾病如：heart disease 心脏病。illness 和sickness 也是名词，但他们一般指生病、痛苦的状态，并非某种特定的疾病。
e.g.: He has a serious disease in the lung. 他有严重的肺病。 She can’t come because of illness. 她因病不能来。
2. might v. aux. 情态动词 may 的过去式，意为“可能，也许”表示不确定的
语气，也可用于一般现在时，在于其上比may 更不确定，课用来提出请求，比may 更委婉。
e.g.: I’m afraid it might rain today. Might I ask a question?
3. human adj. 人的，人类的，用来修饰名词。如：human body, 人类的身体，
human language 人类的语言。
常用human beings 或human kind 来泛指人类。 e.g.: Human beings can speak and think but animals can’t. 4. through pre. 穿过。 指从某事物内部穿过。 如：through the door/ the window
/the body …,也可指从始至终，如：She read through the book. 她把书从头至尾读了。
5. tidy v. 整理，使…整洁，常用短语tidy up.
e.g.: It’s your turn to tidy up after dinner. 吃完饭该你收拾餐具了。 adj. 整洁的，整齐的。如：a tidy room 整齐的房间。 e.g.: You must keep your bedroom tidy.
6. public adj. 公共的，公众的。如：public healthy 公共卫生 public school 公

n. 公众，民众，大众；公共场合、场所
e.g.: You must not smoke in public. 禁止在公共场所吸烟。

第一部分 知识导学
1. than conj.(连词), 比，比较。常用于比较级之后。
e.g.: Health is more important than wealth. 健康比财富更重要。 2. less adj. 较少的，更少的。little的比较级，修饰不可数名词：如less time, 较少的时间，less meat 较少的肉，反义词是more ,更多的。
e.g.: We should eat less meat and more vegetables. 3. 形容词的比较级
当我们将两个人或事物进行比较时，形容词要用比较级。 e.g.: He is taller than I . 他比我高。
Beijing is hotter than Harbin. 北京比上海热。
通过上面的两个例句可以看出，通常形容词的比较级形式是在形容词后+__________ 构成的。 意思是“更…” 但如果是多音节的形容词，其比较级形式是在前面+more. 如：more important, more popular, more interesting. e.g.: I think history is more interesting than biology.
有些形容词的比较级形式是不规则变化，如：good/well- better, many/much-more, little-less, bad-worse. 等。
练习：用所给词的适当形式填空。
