College Students’ Expenses Are High
Last time I returned home,one neighbor,an aged aunt, asked me: “How much do you spend a month?” “About 900 yuan.” I responded honestly. “Oh, too much,too much! You children just do not know what is thrifty! Do you know how hard it is for your parents to make money? Ba la ba la.” I choked up by her words and complied with his “teaching” with my heads nodding up and down obediently. Maybe something in her words deserves me to pound over,or maybe I can find some excuses to rationalize my high expenses as my expenditure is as much,if not more,than other college students. So here comes the question: why college students’ everyday expenses are high?
To commence this probe,we should lift our question to a global standard to find the root cause,and it is easy to discover that “currency inflation, soaring prices”is the true murder behind. No need to collect numbers from statistics,evidences exist everywhere. In school restaurant,the prices of all the essential food are keeping soaring without hesitation,my beloved steamed bun,once two dimes one but now charges for five dimes one. Some argue that most dishes maintain the same prices,but the truth is ladles ladling them are becoming smaller and smaller. Besides food,clothes,transportation,tuition fees,accommodations and even medicines are at an increasing price. As those expenditures are necessities to sustain normal lives even if they are more expensive nowadays,so our college students expenses are high.
Also,we spend more money on entertainment. With the development of the society,more entertainments either spiritual or physical are created like advanced technological
devices,traveling,movies and so on and we are happy to enjoy them. Regarding Apple’s
products,Samsung series,are very popular among students group. When I was a freshman,only a few people use smart phone,tablet PC,but now almost all the people around me use smartphone. Purchasing those technological devices costs a considerable sum of money. On the other hand,an increasing number of students travel for fun now which also needs huge costs. Appealing to more and more students,most of these recreations are healthy both psychologically and physically as advanced products keep us integrating with all the information around us and traveling broads our eyesights. They contribute to parts of expenses,too.
Third,some students are brand dropper and faddist which they throw themselves into the ocean of brands and fashions while the price for it is money. Only one item can cost a tack of bills,such as a LV bag sticking ￥10000 on it. With such kind of spending habits,one don’t have to worry his money cannot be spent.
Moreover,as the major percentage of students are the only child for their
parents,apprehensions for their beloved child may tempt parents to deposit more money on their child’s account. There are hundreds of way to spend money as long as you have money. In this way,it is common for college students having a high expense.
In conclusion,having high expenses is unavoidable for college students while we still need to learn to take care of our money. We need to get the most out of our limited money,avoiding waste and spending it on the right place.
