Natural ways of keeping time

In ancient time, people had to use the sun and the moon to tell time. They got up when the sun came up and worked in the fields until the sun went down.

The sand clock is made of two glass balls joined by a narrow neck. The top ball was filled

One day, a poor boy was trying to pay for school by selling things from door to door. He was hungry so he de-cided to ask for a meal at the next house. However, when a nice young woman opened the door, he changed to ask for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so she brought him a large glass of milk.
