生物统计Biostatistics就业前景
在美国统计学主要有四个研究领域：生物统计、金融统计、数理统计、应用统计，其中金融统计最为热门，而生物统计则是很多植物、生物等学科学生的跨专业首选。下面就生物统计方向的就业情况逐个介绍。
生物统计专业的毕业生就业前景广阔，可以进入大学从事教学和科研工作，也可以在生物科技公司和制药公司进行统计分析，还有相当数量的毕业生进入了医疗机构。在美国，生物统计就业的最好地区是东北部和加州。东北部从新泽西州到纽约州，都有很多的药厂，很多大公司的总部也在这一带，并且麻省的科研机构非常多，因为这里是美国生物医学方面科研机构最集中的地方。
生物统计学在重点领域的应用：

在美国大学中，生物统计有很大一部分设置在公共健康学院(School of Public Health ) 里面，毕业后可以在医院或者科研机构进行研究工作。有的学校会将统计与生物统计两个专业放在一起（Department of Statistics and Biostatistics)，可见其在美国统计学领域中的热门程度。
在SPH 学院下的生统专业，通常会有MS，MPH 和PHD 学位。MPH专业主要是针对有博士学位，或相关工作经验的人群，通常学期是一年，多适合美国本土人群申请。国际学生通常申请MS 或是PHD 学位。
