Step2. Listening (Section A 1a,1b)
T: But, I don’t want to be an actress. Do you know why? Because I think it’s a busy job. They may work on New Year’s Day. Well, we are all very busy on New Year’s Day.
T: Now, look, this is Scott and that is Lucy .What are they doing? (Show the picture of Section A 2a on the screen) Ss: They are talking on the phone.
T: What are they talking about? Now, listen to the tape and number the pictures from 1 to 4 in the box. Play the tape for once, and then check the answer.
T: Now, listen again, and try to match the names with the activities. Like this: Uncle Joe is playing basketball. Listen for one time, ask students to check the answer like this: Group 1, 2: What is Uncle Joe doing? Group3, 4: He’s playing basketball. Step4. Presentation (Section A 1a)

Then show a map of world weather with some cities’ names on it. T: How’s the weather in Beijing? (Show the symbol of raining) Ss: It’s raining. (Read for several times)
T: How’s the weather in Moscow? Do you know Moscow? Then show a picture of Moscow. It’s a beautiful city. Ss: Yes.
T: How’s the weather in Moscow? (Show a symbol of sunny) Ss: It’s sunny.
T: Well done!Do you know Toronto? How’s the weather in Toronto? (Show a symbol of cloudy) Ss: It’s cloudy.
T: Now, look at Boston? Where is Boston? S: It’s in USA.
T: Yes, it’s in America. OK, how’s the weather in Boston? (Show a symbol of snowing) Ss: It’s snowing.
Step5. Practice (Look and Say)
Show the weather symbols, and let students say out different kinds of weather
Step6.Activity: the best weather forecaster
Give a report for students, and then give some other information about the weather and the cities. Ask students to be the best weather forecaster.
Then, ask three students to try it. At last, choose the best one. Step7. Practice (Section A 1a)

Listen and write the city names in the boxes above.

Show a picture with a boy playing football on it.
Ask students to try to say something about the picture. Give some hints: How’s the weather? What are you doing? Are you happy? Students can do like this: It’s raining. I’m playing soccer with my friends. We are very happy. Step11. Groupwork (Make a conversation)
Ask Students to imagine they are in different cities in our
country. Talk about the weather there. They can use the patterns like this: Hello! How are you? How’s the weather in…? What are you doing? What’s John doing? VI. Homework
