Since I was about four, I knew there was something different about my body. I would clear my throat or roll my eyes for no reason. First, my parents thought I was doing these things to get attention(注意), but I really couldn’t control it. My doctor told my parents that the movements were called tics, and that lots of kids have them. He said they’d probably go away as I got older. But I got worse. My hands would move suddenly, my neck would crane forward, and I would sometimes jump.

I knew it was important to control my ties, but it was so hard. When a tic started inside me, it built and built. Until I let it out, I couldn’t think about anything else and sometimes it even started to hurt. I was also worried about telling my friends about my tics because I was afraid they would think I was weird. But when I finally did tell them, it wasn't big deal. They said things like \always wondered why you made those movements,\but that was all. It made me feel good to know that they accepted me even though I had a problem. My fourth grade teacher also helped me a lot. I didn't worry as much because I knew he wouldn’t let anyone make fun of me at school. I finally realized the best way for me to control my tics was to relax and not worry so much. \\ I still have ties now, but that's okay in some ways. I think it is a good thing. Everyone is different somehow, and there's nothing wrong with that.
