＝I will never forget the day when /on which I met him. This is the house. We used to live in this house. ＝This is the house where /in which we used to live.

1.在定语从句中，如果先行词表示时间、地点、原因，并在从句中作状语，则分别用关系副词when,where,why
2.当先行词同样表示时间、地点、原因，但关系词在定语从句中作主语、宾语时，则用关系代词which或 that 引导定语从句（作宾语时，关系代词常可省略）。因此要仔细分析关系词在从句中的句法功能，选择正确的关系词。
3．当先行词是 the way/ways时，引导词可以用 in which，可以用that，也可以不用关系词。例：
