If you study British history, you may find the country went through several
different name. The first name England was referred to England and Wales, and when the two countries linked to Scotland in 1603, the name Great Britain was given to represent the country. Copernicus was born in a wealthy family in Poland in 1473. In 1496, he went to Italy, where he
studied law and medicine and so on until he came back to his homeland in 1506. He later worked for the
church till he died in 1543.
Copernicus lived in a time when people still believed everything moved around the earth, but
