世博场馆介绍之英国馆UK Pavilion:传承经典,铸就未来
英国馆的设计是一个没有屋顶的开放式公园，展区核心“种子圣殿”外部生长有六万余根向各个方向伸展的触须。白天，触须会像光纤那样传导光线来提供内部照明，营造出现代感和震撼力兼具的空间；夜间，触须内置的光源可照亮整个建筑，使其光彩夺目。

Pavilion Features
The first World Expo came about in the United Kingdom and was then known as the Great Exhibition, held in the Crystal Palace at Hyde Park. This majestic metal-and-glass edifice was not only home to the extravaganza display of products from all over the world, but was also the iconic symbol of the world fair, being considered one of the most beautiful structures in the world until a fire destroyed it half a century ago. Now, the United Kingdom has brought to Expo visitors a new version of the Crystal Palace – a dazzling cube formed by more than 60,000 slim and transparent acrylic rods containing seeds of different plants. 展馆特色

Highlight 1: Green Cities 亮点1：绿色城市
Green Cities Visitors will travel through four UK's capital cities from west to east - Belfast, Cardiff, London and Edinburgh. Large \maps\of the cities are on display. The best way to show how green British cities really are is to \all the buildings and streets, leaving only the green spaces.
参观者可以从西到东游览英国的首府城市-贝尔法斯特、卡迪夫、伦敦和爱丁堡。展馆中展出了大型的“绿色地图”。要展示英国城市绿化状况的最好方式便是“抹掉”所有的建筑和街道，只留下绿色区域。
Highlight 2: Seed Cathedral 亮点2：种子圣殿
Seed Cathedral Visitors will be invited to watch, touch and recognize seeds of different plants as the core exhibition of the UK Pavilion. They will be surrounded by the seeds in a 20-meter-high hollow cube-like
structure with the seeds embedded in the walls and ceilings. The \Cathedral\acrylic rods containing seeds. The seeds demonstrate the concept of sustainability, the diversity of nature and the potential of life. During the daytime, each of these 7.5-meter-long rods will act like fibre optic filaments, drawing on daylight to illuminate the interior. At night, light sources embedded in each rod will allow the whole structure to glow. “种子圣殿”是英国馆创意理念的核心部分，游客可以观看、触摸、识别各种不同植物的种子。游客将置身于一个高20米的立方体状的建筑中，在墙上和屋顶上嵌入了数万粒种子。“种子圣殿”是由60，000多根内含种子的透明塑料棒组成的。这些种子展现了英国对可持续发展，保持生物多样性，和生命的潜力等概念的理解。在白天，每根7.5米长的塑料棒像光纤一样，传导光线，照亮展馆内部。到了晚上，嵌在每个塑料棒内的光源将会使整个场馆熠熠放光。
Highlight 3: Olympic Corner 亮点3：奥运角
Olympic Corner UK Pavilion offers a preview of the 2012 London Olympics by incorporating an \a large \map\of the 2.5-square-kilometer Olympic Park in Stratford in East London, which will be turned into the largest city park in Britain. 上海世博会的参观者可以通过设在英国国家馆内的“奥运角”，首次目睹伦敦奥运会的雏形。这里通过一幅大型的“绿色地图”向游客展示了这座建在伦敦东部的斯特拉特福德的2.5平方公里的奥运公园，这个奥运公园之后会被改造成伦敦最大的城市公园。
