Foreign Teacher Job Specification Manual
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to China. For Foreign teacherr convenience living and working here, we want to give Foreign teacher some advice and we hope it will be helpful to Foreign teacherr working and living experience at our school．
Matters for Attention: 1. Foreign teacher shall observe the laws, decrees and relevant regulations enacted by the Chinese government and shall not interfere in China’s internal affairs. Foreign teacher shall respect the Chinese people's moral standards and customs.
2. Foreign teacher shall observe our work system and regulations concerning administration of foreign experts and shall accept our arrangement, direction, supervision and evaluation in regard to foreign teacher’s work. Without our consent, foreign teacher shall not render service elsewhere or hold concurrently any post unrelated to the work agreed on with us.
3. Foreign teacher shall complete the tasks agreed to on schedule and guarantee the quality of work.
4. We will not interfere with Foreign teacherr own religious beliefs and Foreign teacherr religious activities but, Foreign teacher are not allowed to proselytize Foreign teacherr religion and develop followers.
5. P1ease respect staff of the school and residents of Foreign teacherr community. Respect and care about Foreign teacherr students. Any words and behaviors which cause harm and insult to the students and others are not allowed.
6. Foreign teacher can travel in Foreign teacherr spare time and on Foreign teacherr holidays but not during working time. Please don’t enter closed areas in China in order to avoid trouble. P1ease inform HR and the Department of Curriculum and Instruction of Foreign teacherr travel schedule before setting out.
7. Within one week after arriving at school, please provide Foreign teacherr passport to HR, so that we can obtain the required certificates and handle any relevant affairs for Foreign teacher. 8. If Foreign teacher want to return home for a holiday or after finishing the contract and require a

visa or returning visa, the HR will offer Foreign teacher related certificates and help Foreign teacher with the process.
9. Before finishing the contract work, please inform HR what kind of transport tickets Foreign teacher want to order and indicate the route, the destination and the departure time so that we can make the reservations in time. If traveling by Foreign teacherrself during the holidays, Foreign teacher need to order and buy the tickets Foreign teacherrself. If Foreign teacher have difficulties, HR can help Foreign teacher but Foreign teacher will need to pay any associated fees.
10. If Foreign teacher want to go to the city for private affairs, please arrange that during Foreign teacherr spare time . When going shopping, visiting friends and dealing with business in the city, please take care of Foreign teacherr safety concerning traffic and food.
11. If Foreign teacherr friends or family want to stay in the accommodation provided to Foreign teacher overnight at, please let the Teaching Assistant know in advance.
12. The schools and HR are in charge of Foreign teacherr teaching and academic work. They will assist Foreign teacher to solve problems in Foreign teacherr work.
Teaching Tasks 1. Foreign teacherr teaching task is mainly managed by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the headmaster of the school who is in charge of teaching and external affairs. 2. The main responsibility of a foreign teacher is to fulfill the teaching task set by the schools. Foreign teacher cannot change this task, the curriculum and the schedule by Foreign teacherrself without mutual agreement. Foreign teacher are not allowed to accept other work outside our company without getting the permission of department of Curriculum and Instruction and Foreign teacherr school leader.
3. Foreign teacherr teaching will be carried out according to the teaching plan and the outline made by our company. Foreign teacher can discuss with relevant persons the selection of textbooks. Foreign teacher are welcome to recommend or offer foreign advanced teaching materials.
4. While teaching, and outside of class, unauthorized topics should not be discussed. Subjects that should not be discussed include criticism of China, sensitive political topics, religion and any other sensitive topics. Also, teaching religion or leading religious activities is prohibited.

5. Foreign teacher should keep in close contact with Teaching Assistants and take part in related activities at Foreign teacherr schools. Foreign teacher will cooperate with Chinese teachers to discuss and improve Foreign teacherr teaching work. Any reasonable suggestions for teaching at Foreign teacherr schools will be welcomed．
6. Foreign teacher are required to maintain class discipline, listen to the students’ opinions about Foreign teacherr teaching and assign and correct tests and assignments. Take classes seriously, and take the time to advise students after class. Foreign teacher should strictly follow the examination system and stick to marking standards.
7. Foreign teacher will accept evaluations of Foreign teacherr teaching methods by leaders of our company and of the schools in the form of listening to Foreign teacherr classes or in other ways and cooperate with them to carry out teaching assessments.
8. Classes are usually arranged in the first five working days and Foreign teacher shouldn't change the class schedule once it has been settled. Foreign teacher should get the permission of the school leaders in advance if Foreign teacher need to change Foreign teacherr class.
9. Foreign teacher should ask for leave if Foreign teacher can’t go to class and don’t have a legitimate reason. For personal matters, Foreign teacher should get the permission of company leaders and the school leader. A medical certificate is required when asking for sick leave. The benefits enjoyed during the leave will be in accordance with the contract.
10. When the contract duration is up, the school will make an appraisal of Foreign teacherr work. Foreign teacher can get publically acknowledged and may get a bonus from the company if Foreign teacherr teaching has been exceptional. The school will have the option to dismiss Foreign teacher if Foreign teacher don't maintain a serious attitude to Foreign teacherr teaching, can't finish Foreign teacherr teaching tasks or make no improvement even after being corrected. 11. Foreign teacher should be present at the school according to the contract requirements. If Foreign teacher have special reasons for delay or leaving early, Foreign teacher should give the reasons for the delay or leaving early and Foreign teacher should get the permission of Department of CS and HR in advance.
Living Arrangements

i. Accommodation
1． The accommodation of a foreign teacher will be arranged by the school．Foreign Teachers are
expected to take care of the bills for water, gas and electricity. All of the utensils and facilities should be taken care of by the foreign teacher. In the event of any damage or loss due to carelessness, foreign teachers will be expected to pay for it according to the set price. If anything in the room needs to be repaired please contact Foreign teacherr TA. Foreign teachers should be responsible for any of their own property.
2． All of the electrical appliances in the apartment should be installed by our equipment sections. Please do not install outlets Foreign teacherrself. The gas range and all the electrical appliances should be operated in accordance with the related rules. If someone operates them against the rules and something unexpected happens, he will be responsible for any damage. 3． Excessive drinking, any drug use, gambling, whoring are strictly prohibited in the apartments. 4． Engaging in illegal acts or the distribution of reactionary or obscene materials, books,
magazines pictures, audio or video media among Chinese citizens is prohibited.
5． Foreign teachers cannot live with male or female visitors in their apartments other than their
spouses, parents, brothers, sisters or children.
6． If foreign teachers bring their children to our school, they should pay the living expenses,
child care, school and the housemaid by themselves.
7． Students from schools are not allowed to visit Foreign teacherr apartment.
8． When the contract is ended, foreign teachers shall keep the room and furniture as it was when
they moved in. If not, any cost of having a cleaner do the job will be the teacher’s responsibility.
ii. Security
1. Foreign teacher should give us Foreign teacherr health certificates and take a physical
examination when Foreign teacher arrive at our company. If Foreign teacher are sick, Foreign teacher can see a doctor in our school hospital accompanied by related persons if necessary. The medicals costs will be paid by the foreign teacher.

2. If the foreign teacher goes out for school business, the company or the relevant school will
arrange a car. If for personal affairs, he can arrange a car by himself and he will pay his own expenses. If Foreign teacher go out by bicycle or on foot, please observe traffic regulations and mind Foreign teacherr personal safety.
3. In Foreign teacherr apartments, Foreign teacher should pay attention to the safe use of
electricity and gas and must not keep combustible, explosive, highly toxic or radioactive materials.
4. In an emergency, Foreign teacher must either notify the entrance guard on duty without delay
or dial 119 (fire station), 120 (first-aid station) or 110 (police station).
iii. Professional Standards
1. Foreign teachers should maintain a professional approach to their life and work at schools.
Foreign teacher are expected to familiarize Foreign teacherrself with and respect customs and traditions of teachers in China.
2. A friendly but professional approach to students is expected at all times.
3. Teachers must not be involved in any romantic or sexual relationships with students from
schools.
4. Foreign teachers have the responsibility to settle in, to get used to the local life and the
school’s arrangement as soon as possible with the TA’s help in two weeks time. Please appreciate the TA’s assistance with Foreign teacherr work and life but do not rely on their assistance too much, especially in Foreign teacherr personal life, in order to not disturb the TA’s personal life. In any emergency cases, Foreign teacherr TA will provide their assistance on time even in their free time.
5
