Dear Mrs. Elizabeth Williams,
I wish to apply for a Ph.D Program in environmental engineering related to analysis of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) at Harvard University, which is my current research area. My intended time of admission is the fall of 2015.
In 2012 I got my B. A. degree in Applied Chemistry from Qingdao University. And I had been awarded scholarships for five times. Now I’m studying at University of Chinese Academy of Science for environmental engineering. I’m working hard and I will graduate in June 2015. In addition, I am well prepared linguistically to further my studies in America. My TOEFL is 115 and my GRE is 160.
Harvard University is a well-known and popular university. It is my aspiration to become a student at your prestigious university.
If possible, I also wish to obtain graduate assistantship so that I may support myself and obtain some experience while pursuing my graduate studies.
I would be grateful if you would send me the application forms for admission and financial support at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your consideration.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Chen Zhaojing
