Capgemini developed a few school related Liferay portlets for a proof-of-concept project with Malm? municipality in Sweden. Each teacher/student/parent has a dashboard screen when logging in. Dashboard can be configured for all roles and is updated next time user logs in. Support for school organizations, roles and relations. Easy to setup a default page for all organization types (schools, classes, staffpages). API for developing new portlets in a school environment. Hooks for creating dashboard and redirecting users correctly. Administrative interface for teachers and principals for creating schools, classes and creating student and parent accounts with the correct relations/rights. Live@edu integration portlet (needs a commercial components though) Portlet for aggregating blog information for school/class/teachers. Class list portlet (address info to other teachers/students/parents). Adopted alert portlet for important information distribution to students/parents. New navigation that gives user an easy access to school, class and communty pages.
