It happened on July 30, 1994, at about 6:30 pm when the nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver handed me my first-born son. My wife lay on the bed next to me, tired after a very long and difficult labor and delivery(分娩). I was amazed at the life we’d created and I was afraid and interested as I considered my new situation. I wondered if I was really ready for the great responsibility I held in my arms, and then realized that I didn’t have a choice.
More than sixteen years later, and now the father of three boys, I find myself thinking about how being a father has shaped my beliefs. Along the way I’ve developed a few basic beliefs.
I believe in giving our kids choices: my wife and I are authorities in the family. However, whenever possible, we’ll give our kids the power to choose how they’ll guide themselves and contribute to our family.
I believe the whole family should come together at the end of every day for a meal; it’s necessary to reconnect family members at the table, where stories and experiences of the day are shared.
I believe that a father is not a babysitter---when I am alone with the boys, I am first their father, and that relationship is paramount. I’m not “watching the kids” whenever my wife is not with us. Being my boys’ father gives me more rights to all of the benefits and responsibilities of the job, all of the time.
I believe in the power of toys. I believe in reading aloud. I believe in running around in the yard and throwing baseballs with my kids. I believe my kids should help with housework and get paid for it. I believe in pancakes made with my children on a Saturday morning and the reading of comics on a Sunday morning. I believe in telling my boys stories, and I believe our

kids have the most fun when the TV is off.
And after these years I believe I still have a lot to learn as a father, but it’s the best education in the world.

The Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers has been named the greenest one in the world by the travel and tourist organization Skaal International, reported the Danish news agency Ritzau on Monday. The hotel has been awarded the Eco Tourism Award for setting an environmental-friendly example to other hotels, said the report.
The Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers is located in the Copenhagen suburb of Oerestad and has the largest solar cell facility in the Nordic. This facility delivers energy to the hotel while Danish groundwater supplies cooling and heating in the air condition of the hotel.
The Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers TV and lights in the hotel are all of energy-saving brands. Shampoo bottles, toothbrushes and washing accessories are biologically degradable(可降解的), which means that nature can easily absorb the materials.
The hotel restaurant is only buying local goods and the food leftovers are used for bioenergy as well as fertilizer (肥料). The fitness facilities also provide a green touch to the hotel, as the training bikes of the fitness center are linked to the power grid (电网) of the hotel,
