一、 概述
本手册中AIX系统统一采用CD-ROM进行安装，AIX的版本为5.3。所用到的光盘介质有AIX 5.3操作系统安装盘（共八张）、Document安装盘。
系统的安装部分共分为BOS的安装、Bundle的安装、Document的安装（可选）、补丁的安装以及系统参数设置五个部分。其中系统参数设置部分可以同步进行（在安装完BOS后）。图形CDE登录可以用多窗口方式进行，字符终端接入可以用Telnet方式变通进行。
注意，在本手册中所有的操作均需使用root用户身份来完成。

二、 安装及设置
2.1BOS的安装
步骤1： 由光盘进行引导
外部设备加电，待机器面板上的绿灯变成闪烁状态后按下Power键，将操作系统的第一张光盘插入DVD-ROM驱动器，待keyboard字样或图标出现在控制台上后，按F1/1键进入SMS中，选择Multiboot修改bootlist，选择从光盘引导，或直接在SMS选择Multiboot选择Install from中的cd0来进行安装，或者直接通过按5/F5键（新的机器只支持5）直接从光盘进行引导。
步骤2：选择主控台

按F1选择当前设备为主控台（console）

步骤3：选择安装系统时所用的语言

步骤4：进入BOS安装设置菜单

步骤6：选择安装模式
按1修改安装方式以及安装rootvg的硬盘介质
Change Method of Installation
Type the number of your choice and press Enter.
1 New and Complete Overwrite
Overwrites EVERYTHING on the disk selected for installation.
Warning: Only use this method if the disk is totally empty or there is nothing on the disk you want to preserve. 2 Preservation Install
Preserves SOME of the existing data on the disk selected for Installation.
Warning: This method overwrites the user (/usr), variable (/var), temporary (/tmp), and root (/) file systems. Other product (application) files and configuration data will be destroyed.
3 Migration Install
