Teaching procedure:

Step1 Review

The teacher shows the word cards, then asks students to say how to spell these words.

Review the phrases about the text.

Step 2 Presentation

(1) Let the students skim the Read, and find out the ignorant of sentences.

(2) Let students read the text carefully and answer the following questions. Check the answers.

① Where are Tom and Bob walking? ② Who is playing with a ball?

③ Who wants to cross the street when the light is red? ④ The light is green. Can Bob cross the street now? ⑤ Who says “Look! The light is green.”?

⑥ Who did right, Tom or Bob?

Step 3 Consolidation

(1) Let students read the text by themselves and find out the important and difficult points. The teacher writes them down on the blackboard and explains the difficult ones. For example:

all right (好,正确的) play with (与…一起玩) in the street (在街上)

(2) Let students read the text again, then listen to the tape. Read after it, imitating the pronunciation and intonation.

Step 4 Practice

(1) Review and sum up important sentence patterns together in this text. (2) Then ask the students to summarize the points.

Let students make sentences with “must”and “may”as many as possible. Try to retell the text.
