Foreword
Foreword
The mainland Chinese and Hong Kong markets present exciting opportunities for suppliers of food ingredients.
This report provides an overview of developments and trends in both China and Hong Kong for a wide range of processed food ingredients, including specialised food additives (such as flavours, colours, sweeteners, emulsifiers and thickeners), as well as dairy and bakery ingredients (including milk powder, whey, casein, cereals, enzymes and yeast).
The report profiles Chinese domestic production and trade trends for individual categories of food ingredients and also examines a number of target markets for ingredient suppliers.
We believe The Market for Food Ingredients in China and Hong Kong will prove to be a very useful reference document for Australian producers, agri-food organisations, researchers and policy makers alike, and that it will be of assistance to Australian suppliers of food ingredients wishing to export to or invest in China and Hong Kong.
This report is part of the Corporation's Global Competitiveness research program, which aims to identify important impediments to the development of a globally competitive Australian agricultural sector and to support research that will lead to options anfd strategies to remove these impediments.
