后事之师). We chinese always read the experience of the past for reference. Westerners take future-orientation. They think the future is the most important. They belive they can  manage their future. They incline to the opinion that there is nothing permanent except change and they prefer to believe that an expert is one who knows more and more about less and less.  4.3activity orientation  Some culture sress the value of humankind. They think as long as one occupies an position,he should do exactly what this position requirs to do and achieve the expected  results. Some pay more attention to the development,they emphasize humankind’s potentiality. While some others incline to doing things,they regard the achievement of the goal as the most important.  Affected by the confucianism,chinese chose to comply with nature when they deal with something. On one hand,chinese people are indefferent to fame and fature. They persuit a peaceful life. Since old times,there were many people who have high social status or people who was very telegent chose to withdraw from sociaty and live in solitude. On the other hand,chinese are lack of an spirit to innovate. They even refuse to accept an innovation when it is brought out. Westerners are just stand on the opposite side. Westerners are enjoy trying new things and favoer reforms. They incline to venture into the unknow and explore new things. “Nothing ventured, nothing gained” is their belief.so,you must try your best if you want to succeed. As we all know, westerners are more extrouvert than we chinese. It is due to their different activity orientation. The formation of their different character is closely connected with their values.  4.4human nature orientation  We chinese people believe that human nature born to basically good. The confucian benevolence thought(仁爱思想) is the soul of chinese traditional thought. Benevolence means that we should love others. So ,we always maintain that international disputes be settled by peaceful means. To other people ,we advocate make concessions. Any ascription of disinterested motives will arouse our respection. We advocate that do as you would be  done by,do unto others what you would like others to do unto you. When you help others,it should be selfless,you can not wish any repayment for what you have done for others, or you wil be regarded as shameful. On the contrary, the opinion that human nature born to basically bad which is hold by the Bible was widdly accepted&#
