浅析美国主流文化模式中的个人主义
【摘要】 文化是极为复杂的现象，它包括一个民族的信仰、价值观等多个方面，对人们观察世界的方式会产生重大影响。个人主义是美国文化的核心，对于个人主义没有了解便无法理解美国文化。本文简单的介绍了美国历史上对个人主义产生过重大影响的事件或个人—清教主义、西进运动和爱默生的思想。然后浅析了个人主义的一些表现，以期待更深刻地理解个人主义这一美国主流文化模式。

【abstract】cultures are extremely complex and consist of many aspects besides the beliefs and values of a nation. it exerts great influence on the manner in which people perceive the world. individualism is the core of american culture. without some knowledge of individualism one is unable to understand american culture. this paper briefly introduces the events and people that have influenced the development of american individualism, namely, puritanism, westward
movement and emerson. then it analyzes some manifestations of individualism in american society. it is expected to promote the understanding of individualism as a dominant american cultural pattern.
