Meaning: The computer does not work.

down: adj. (of computer systems) not in operation (计算机系统)停止操作的;停机的

Our computers have been down for a few hours. 我们的计算机系统出问题已经几个小时了。

6. The computer is the only one allowed to issue tickets for the plane.

Meaning: The computer is the only thing that is given the right to sell tickets for the plane.

the only one allowed to… = the only thing that is allowed to… 7. So when it goes down, you go down with it.

Meaning: So when the computer doesn't work, you don't work either because of the computer.

it = the computer

go down with: catch (an infectious disease) 感染上

Many students have gone down with the flu. 许多学生都染上了流感。
