Abstract: Water - soluble CdTe quantum dots were synthesized with Cd(CH3COO)2·2H2O via one-step aqueous phase synthesis method which K2TeO3 as starting materials, NaBH4 as reductant and thioglycollic cid (TGA) as ligand. The products of different reaction time were characterized by UV-VIS spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy, then calculated their size, concentration and fluorescence-quantum yield. The yeast cells were mixed cultured with the CdTe QDs of different concentration, and determining the biotoxicity of CdTe QDs by biomass method.
