my foreign teacher Tim and I planned to go to the People’s Park to enjoy ourselves. We took a taxi and it wasn’t long before we arrived at the gate of the park. On seeing the green trees and blooming flowers, Tim couldn’t wait to take pictures. It was at that moment that we found his camera was gone. He searched all over his backpack but just couldn’t find it. Suddenly it occurred to me that he might have left it in the taxi. With anxiety and hope, we found out the invoice of the taxi, on which a phone number was printed, so I immediately got in touch with the taxi company. About half an hour later, the driver returned with the camera and you could imagine the wide smile spreading across Tim’s face. Both of us were grateful to the driver, and Tim, in particular, insisted on taking a photo with him.
Tim and I enjoyed ourselves during the rest of the day, but it was that taxi driver who made our day.

Last Friday, my class took part in a meaningful and challenging course—Outward Bound. Early in the morning, we got to an Outward Bound centre on our school bus. Upon arrival, we were divided into several groups and our coach introduced the course to us. Shortly afterwards, we got involved in various activities. One of them was jumping across a broken bridge. I was afraid at first, but with the encouragement of the coach, I finally made it. What impressed me most was climbing over a wall to “escape.” We helped one another and all of us managed to “survive.” Before we left the centre, we had a photo taken to record the unforgettable experience, which gave us a good chance to build up courage and improve our sense of teamwork. 2011

Recently the student union conducted a survey on whether recycling dustbins should be set in classrooms.
As can be seen from the pie chart, different students hold different opinions on this program. Only a few students care little about it. Surprisingly, about one third of students are totally against the program. They don’t bother to change their old habits. However, over half the students are completely for the program, as it is not only beneficial to recycling of resources, but also it can help students develop their good habits of garbage classification. Besides, 12% of the students partly agree. They hold the opinion that educating people on how to classify the garbage goes first.
Personally, I’m in favor of this program. I believe it’s important to raise people’s awareness of garbage classification, from which we will get considerable benefits for the future. 西城 2013
