在词语之间的转换基础上进行句子结构的转换同样也是阅读的一大特点。否定结构与肯定结构之间，主动与被动语态之间，都是常见的转换形式。

这是一个全文summary题目的节选，本题中两个否定间的并列结构就是解答逻辑题的一个最好线索。原文中，就是根据在这个结构找到了两个否定的并列“first, it lacked the necessary technical vocabulary. Second, it lacked the grammatical resources.”两个序列词first， second，以及含有否定意义的动词lack,清晰地与题目中的neither… nor 进行了转换，答案也就一目了然了。
值得一提的是：有时尽管题目与原文中的内容会发生变化，但是结构上的一致性也可以帮助我们以很快的速度去在原文中将答案精确的定位出来。
For example：
question： “ which could city large pieces of _____”
题目中就可根据 larges pieces of 这样的一个结构在原文中可以发现一个类似的信息：“to bear the weight of massive blocks of stone ”形容词+名词(复数)+of的相同结构，答案非stone 莫属了。
四种依次递增的转换，使雅思阅读的考题显得其乐无穷，同时也将阅读的难度提到了一个不同的高度。但朗阁专家建议考生，只要把握了这样的一个实质以后，做阅读的主线也就抓住了，结合具体的题型，阅读也可以简单之极。
