In modern era when few people can ever escape its influence, TV has a topic of controversy. Is it good or bad for us?
On the one hand, TV entertains us with interesting programs, conveys to us extensive knowledge, and presents to us valuable information. On the other we often find ourselves annoyed by frequent advertisements, confused by poor second-rate programs, and isolated from others by our addition to TV. On the whole, our feeling toward TV is mixed: delight, gratification. appreciation, bewilderment, disapproval, and apprehension.
Nothing is perfect. So is TV. We need to come to terms with its imperfections. What we should do is to utilize it to the full while attempting to minimize its disadvantages.
