How are things going with you?
I’m writing to ask for your help. As you know, I’m weak in English reading comprehension. Although I have tried every means to improve it, like expanding my vocabulary and doing a large number of exercises, so far all my efforts have ended up in failure, which really makes me discouraged. To make things worse, this year reading will make up a higher percentage than ever before in the coming College Entrance Examination. Now with the important exam drawing near, I feel more and more stressed and worried. If I didn’t take effective measures, I wouldn’t be able to get through the exam and that would ruin my college dream.

I’m Li Hua, a student from Qiming Secondary School. I’m in charge of your visit to our school next week and I’m writing to exchange ideas about the arrangements for you.
You’ll be picked up at the airport and after a short rest, we’ll show you around our campus, which will allow you to get a general impression of our school. Then you’re supposed to visit our teaching buildings, the school stadium and the dormitories as well. After that, we will have lunch together in the school canteen. In the afternoon, a free talk will be arranged, so we can talk about the school life and different cultures of the two countries. In the evening, there will be a welcome party for you.
