Good morning, everyone! My name is Tiantian. I come from Changchun Normal University.It’s my pleasure to standing here and talking about Lesson 1, which is from Oxford English for primary school, Book 3A, Unit 7.
My teaching report includes four parts. Now let me introduce my teaching report. Part 1 To analyze the book.
1. There are 12 units in this book. This is the first lesson in Unit 7. This is the first lesson of Unit 7. I’ll teach part A and B of this unit. The central item is how to master another sentence to express “Look at his/ her … Look, this is … That is …” and master the new words a coat, a sweater, a jacket and so on. We’ll study and drill the sentences and the word’s pronunciation.
2. According to the teaching outline and combing the students’ situation I make the teaching aims of this lesson as follows. a. The first is the aim of knowledge
(1)To enable the students read and spell the new words and understand the meaning of them.
(2)The students know how to use the new sentence patterns “Look at his/ her … Look, this is … That is …” b. The second is the aim of abilities.
I will try my best to train the students’ skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Mainly improve their communicative skill and creativity. c. The third is the aim of emotion. (1) Develop the students’ confident.
(2) Make them be interested in English study. Teaching points:
(1) The students can read the words correctly.
(2) The students can understand the meaning of the new sentence patterns and
use them.
(3) To improve the students’ abilities of speaking and writing. Part 2 Teaching and learning methods
Make the students take part in class. Ask and answer in pairs and groups. I’ll use communicative method, discussing method and seeing and hearing method to teach this lesson.
Part 3 Teaching aids
I’ll use CAI and cards as my teaching aids. Part 4 Teaching procedure Step 1 Warm-up
First, I’ll have a free talk with the students. Because free talk is an important way to improve the students’ ability of speaking. Of course it can prepare for the next step. I’ll ask the students some questions like: Good morning. How are you? Nice to meet
you! What’s your name?” and so on. Step 2 Presentation
1. Learn the new words
a. Use the computer to show the pictures of clothes. b. Tell them what they are.
c. Write down the words on the blackboard and read them.
d. Ask a student come to the blackboard and put the card to the right place. e. Practice the new words: Show the students the cards and say what it is. 2. Learn the new sentences.
Use the computer to show pictures and guide them to learn “Look at his/ her … Look, this is … That’s …” Then make a short dialogue in pairs use the new words we have learnt before.
First, I’ll show them a picture and say “Look at my pencil. It’s pretty?” I’ll go on to do like that “Look at her sweater. It’s nice. It’s pretty.” Then ask some students to say a new sentence.
Then I’ll show them another picture and say “Look, this is my dress. It’s pretty.” And show another picture and say “Look that is her/ his coat. It’s smart.” After that I’ll show the pictures and ask some students to act it. Step 3 Practice
1. Play a game “Draw and guess”
First, divide the students into four groups. Each group will choose a student come to the black board. Then I’ll tell them a word and they must draw it on the blackboard. The other students will guess what it is.
2. Make a short dialogue in pairs and act it.
This part is very important. Because the students’ abilities of speaking and communication will be well trained. Step 4 Assessment
Show them a dialogue and finish it together in order to check the knowledge we have learned in this class. Step 5 Homework
1. Copy the new words 2. Read part A and B.
3. Talk about your classmates’ clothes with your friends.
