I’m a student from Chenguang Middle School. Recently, with reports of square dance frequently appearing in news media, square dance has become the focus of attention due to the continuous complaints from local residents. Then what should we do with it?
Forbidding it is definitely not a good idea. Square dance, whose participants are mainly middle-aged or elder women, undoubtedly provides a very good exercise for them. However, the opponents say square dance does seriously affect their life for its loud music, or rather, noise. What’s worse, they can hardly find any place to relax because square dance usually occupies the whole square.
To crack this hard nut, I think mutual understanding and communication is a must. Besides, the government could build a “square dance park” to reduce its influence on others. I believe square dance could develop better with our joint efforts.
