At home in my little town in Connecticut*, it's different. The distant ringing of a police car brings me to my feet if I’m in bed.
It's the quietest sounds that the most effect on us,not the loudest. In the middle of the night, I can hear a dripping tap a hundred yards away through three closed doors. How come I never hear the sounds in the daytime?
I’m quite clear in my mind what the good sounds are and the bad sounds are.
I’ve turned against whistling*,for instance.I used to think of it as the mark of a happy worker. But lately,I’ve been connecting*the whistler with a nervous person making noises. The tapping*of my typewriter as the keys hit the paper is a

Recently I’ve had a discussion with my teachers about whether or not we should keep on running in the mornings after the physical test.
All of our teachers think we should stop running in the mornings. They think we have less time for study. Also, the weather is becoming hotter and hotter. To make things worse, they think we students may get injured easily while running.
However,I don’t agree with them.I know they care more about our study. But in my opinion, health is the most important thing.Running in the morning can not only keep our bodies strong but can also make us study better and better.Nobody can study well if he or she has a weak-body.In a word,it’s necessary for us to keep on running after taking the physical test.
