One morning as I was on my way to work, I was shocked by a sharp, tense (紧张的) call of a bird. The sound was coming from somewhere in the branches of the oak tree.
This was not the usual bird song. Instead, this was a call of danger, and it didn't take long for me to discover what it was about. As I looked around, I noticed a baby bird sitting on the ground under the oak tree, while the mother bird was flying in the sky and calling its baby. That's where the birdsong came from. Clearly, this baby was on its first flight and had some difficulty.
I'm sure that it needed some help. I went to see ifl could place it back in its nest(巢). But when I went near, I suddenly realized that it would not be helpful to give that help, because it might make the mother bird fly away rather than try to go near. And ifl placed it back, it would surely lose a chance to learn how to fly. So I stopped and stepped back.
Later, as I saw it fly away safely with its mom, I knew everything was OK for the birds. It was then that I got a better understanding of my purpose in this situation and in life. I am not the savior(救世主); I am just a usual person. Sometimes the road to hell is paved with good intentions(好心办坏事).
